Tour of the Cooperative
Enjoy an impressive nature aventure, getting to know the tea plantation, the organization of the Cooperative, its structure, history, development and the culture of its inhabitants, including a tour of the Chirrepec Caves.
Ask in the Cooperative office about our various tour routes.
To arrive at the Cooperative Chirrepec, take a microbús in Coban that travels to San Juan Chamelco, tell the driver that you will get off at the Cooperative Chirrepec, and he will know where to drop you off. The cost of transportation is Q 2.00. Or, take a taxi, which costs Q 20.00. In 15 minutes, you will apréciate the Cooperative installations. Visits welcome from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Tour of the Cooperative and Community
After the tour of the Cooperative, get to know the people and life of the associates through a tour of the community. The tour will visit three sacred caves and the Old Estate where the German patrons lived previously. For a more personal experience, a member of the Cooperative will accompany you and explain the beliefs and history of the Cooperative.
Q 25.00 each person for the tour of the Cooperative and Community. For this tour, please arrive before 12:00. If you would also like to eat a traditional lunch with a family, the cost is Q 25.00 per person.
